Hello! Just built my first bfm rig and I have been blown away by how it sounds and how efficient (i.e. loud) it is. Never did any woodwork before in my life, but thanks to the detailed plans I am now quite good at it (although still got a way to go to get up to the standard of some of the builders here - not that it matters if you follow the plans and ensure that any cabs you builds are airtight). There's a lot of useful info here even if you don't plan on building anything (yet ;) )

Gday John - welcome to the forum.

Many interesting things to be learned, and experiences to be had here.

Building these cabs is most rewarding - especially when you turn them on WOW

Thanks for the Welcome Guys ! I met Bill over at the Tech Talk forum a few years ago.And he was kind enough to give me some advice on a speaker I was building..So I wanted to stop in and see what else I can learn from you guys here. And look at some of Bills designs.I like cabs with dual woofers. :hyper:

You must want a huge amount of output. Typically, these cabs put out more SPL in their passband than the common flavour of cabs. 8)

just build double the amount of cabs, in single varieties. this allows you to get more performance out of every driver (you can build them wider without breaking your back)
Built:
2x Tuba 30s delta12lf loaded (gone)
4x Otop12 d2512 loaded
8x t48s (18, 18, 24, 24, 30, 30) 3015lf loaded
2x AT (1 mcm, 1 gto 804)
2x SLA Pro (dayton pa6, 6 goldwood piezo loaded)
1x bastard XF208

2x OT212 (delta pro 450a loaded, eminence psd)

WELCOME!
I grew up in Somerset County . Haven't been back since '77. I did do a Google Earth for the old homestead and it just ain't the same, However with this group and I mean any DIY'er you'll always feel at home
I just finished my first THT LP build and DIY ever and the DIY crowd and the advice and warnings and humor are all good for any level of wood bender . . .
I'm currently building 2 more @ 29&7/8's wide for my living room and retirement party, endish of august. same bash 300 and recommended speaker. I expect to use a FBD 1124p for tuning but that's a few weeks from now.

I'm in So. Cal. same house and neighbor for 35 years. He was my "senior tech advisor" for that build but he's a bit busy while I multi-task on these next 2.
Kinda a shame as I really wanted to get his panel saw into my garage, but it is buried . . . deep. So I had Lowes do some acceptable slicin'.
