Are the 2512s in the OT12's excursion or thermally limited please?
The reason I ask is that I am (foolishly??) questioning the 35V limit on the Otops. To me, it seems that there is not a lot of cabinet loading going on with the Otops.. that horn is pretty short when compared to the tubas (although I guess it not as short when compared to the wavelength in their passband).
The 2512s are rated (thermally) for 250Wrms, so do you think I would be safe pushing them a lil' harder? I know that if I want more volume, the ideal situation is to build another pair of cabs, but I am not in an ideal situation (

). The Piezos can take 30V each (=30V per 7 piezo element therefore 60V for the whole array), so they are not a worry.
They sounded like they had a whole lot more to give at the free party the other week, hence why I am asking this question. I am kind of expecting a "35V, it's in the plans

" answer, but is there any give? If it
IS only the thermal limit that I need to observe, I may push them a little harder (40V?) at the next party. It is in an inside location, so I will probably need that extra top once the subs are eating 50V (and no more

) whilst corner loaded and v-plated (can't wait!

)
I must say though that the Otops are already outstanding. Huge sound from a tiny box. Kudos Bill.
