miked wrote:Any new pics, BassLordBob? :cowboy: You just HAVE TO let all 12 T60s rip at once. Yes it's a lot of work to schlep them and set them up, etc. But you will then hold a world record of some kind! I'd be totally curious as to what kind of SPL you could hit just feeding each cab about 20 volts or so. And trying "the brown note" experient is also a must-do, BTW.
Im going to stop at 4 T60's since I got them mastered for assembly and move onto building jigs for the Dr280's. Im running out of space in my shop so building the DR's will take up less room..

haha, we heard this same thing a couple pages back, but it was "i'm gonna stop at 2 t60s and work on Jigs for DRs". The bug has got you man.
lol.. These thing are like crack! I didnt want to stop building the Tubas I was having to much fun.. I did however officially start on the DR's today :) I'll have some pics tmrw for sure!

A word of caution with the DR's. Do not get discouraged during the build. They seem to take forever to build and not much changes until the end of the build then everything just seems to fall into place. The end results are so worth it. I would do it again tomorrow if I had a need for yet another set of DR's. Just keep at it and you will be rewarded.
Killer work on the T60's BTW.
Built
4-25" Lab12 loaded T39's
2-DR250's Melded array
2-DR250's Flat array

Thanks biggerrigger for the words of encouragement lol.. These are def a tedious speaker to build. So far Ive only only gotten to the horn/throat assembly but for six cabs.. I keep peaking deeper into the plans just to scare myself :wall:

I'll +1 biggerigger's comment.
No doubt your making jigs for these as you go as well, so that is probably slowing your progress some.

Stages to look forward too:
1. The top and bottom are on.
2. You have the horn framing completed
3. The horn ply is on.
4. The reflectors are in (at this point the cab becomes much more solid IME)
5. The rear sheaths are done
6. The middle braces and sides are on.

The rest seems easy after that, but still takes some time...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Ya thanks for reminding me lol.. I'm actually looking forward to tackling this build, I'll def take my time and find cool methods to help me simplify it. Meanwhile I got all 6 horn/throat assemblies done.. I made this jig up to hold everything square while I assemble them..

haha I'll switch to PL in the areas that are important for sealing.. I'll seal these with silicone since its easily accessible but I needed faster setup time to build them assembly line style.. Although Im totally a PL fan especially on the Tubas dont discount glue for its strength

That jig is very familiar. Almost the same as what Harley and I came up with. 8)
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

Yeah, but ours had that polychromatic stabilised quadratic doofer cunningly positioned planar to the hyperbolic co-ordinates of the theoretical transducer position along with the modified double overhead locking cam holder and I believe that really set us apart in jig technology Leland.
