Home Depot Black poultry fence 25 feet $19?

#1 Post by djlivex »

Have anyone OR any idea if this is a good cheap solution for metal grills for speaker protection? I am about to finish my SLA Pro's, I saw this at Home Depot seems sturdy enough and opening is probably 90% free air, and black finish (will spray black paint for the cut edges). Thanks!

It looks like it's made of plastic. Personally, I don't think it has the desired strength, and it may be a fuss to install.

+1 It is plastic. IMHO not worth trying. I am of a "Buy Once, Cry Once" philosophy.

No, not really. I got mine from PE and cut and bent them myself. Look for "perforated metal" around you. Take the time to look for what your need and show some initiative. Be patient and investigate sources.

Hit up Google for steel dealers in your area. I get mine from a local shop, and it's pretty reasonable. I tell them the sizes I need, and they even cut it to the dimensions I need. They have a lot of options - aluminum or steel, a couple thicknesses, and a few different hole sizes. You may need to call around to a few different places. Not everyone will want to deal on small orders like this, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find someone that would be willing to sell to you. In my experience, it's MUCH cheaper than anything you'll find online, even before shipping.
