Selling Autotubas at Car Shows?

#1 Post by DJ Higgumz »

OK so I will be selling some car related stuff at this car show in Jefferson, Wisconsin. and just the other day I thought, maybe next year I could bring 20 autotubas! I would sell them from $300-400 a pop. I would have one in my car, and I would do demos with them. Do you guys think this is plausible? could I sell them? I will get a franchise, dont give me that lecture

As long as you are an "authorized builder", you can sell them any way and any where allowed by your franchise. I would take some different finish examples, such as Duratex, carpet and "custom" color-matched versions. I don't know if you could sell 20. How good of a salesman are you? If the majority of the people already have huge custom systems in their rides, I doubt that you will turn them with an auto-tuba.

Most of the car sound idiots wet their pants over the look of moving cones in fiberglass mouldings, not over sound quality and big square boxes.

Have an SUV there that you have a THT in as well, just to see them cry when you tell them that it is only one 15.

Best wishes Steve. During the last soud-off I attended, two Auto Tuba's absolutely destroying the back end of my car drew about as much attention as properly inflated tires. :| If nothing is moving, and it doesn't blink....

+1. Want to sell them? Engrave '2,000 Watts' on the outside of the cab, and don't say what's inside.

And to add to the mystique - don't tell anyone anything about it. Just say, "If you want to know how it works, you'll have to buy it and saw it in half."

And then charge so much that nobody would even consider doing it.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512

2 - XF210

You could put a plexi access pannel on it, so you can see something moving and to prove that it is just an 8.

Only if he doesn't want to sell any. Those people typically hear with their eyes.
