I have several Ryobi cordless tools but here in México there is no longer a distribuitor for buy batteries, I'm running on my last one good nimh battery and i wonder if it's possible to upgade to a lifepo4 battery used on r/c toys like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... earch=9.9v
It's 9.9 volts and I plan to use 2 in parallel. Any one has made this?

Re: Upgrading batteries on a cordless tools
My experience with R/C batteries is they are much larger than the batteries used in battery operated power tools.
There are people here who rebuild battery packs with sub C sized appropriate batteries, maybe there is someone nearby who can do that for you.
Other than that, get them shipped in from another country...

Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

...and use this charger if you've got the coin for it.
The original NiMH batteries in my 7 year-old Streamlight Stinger HP still function as new because of it.

Put your batteries in the freezer overnight and when you take them out give them a good bashing with a heavy object, not enough the split the plastic but enough to break the tracks that build up inside. Yes it does sound like a joke but I tried it and it actually works.

Re: Upgrading batteries on a cordless tools
Why not go with cordless? I find them to work better because the size is much smaller and lighter for working in tight spots. this is in comparison to my milwaukee v28 or something drill. that thing is just too big and heavy for cabinet making.
Before Fitzmaurice, big bass could only be had with just a hook and a nightcrawler.

You're suggesting going with cordless instead of ... cordless?DJ Higgumz wrote:Why not go with cordless? Sense. You make none.
