My first BFM build Otop 12

So, finally started making sawdust,

The wood was precut by my local woodshop, today I started cutting the baffles, woofer spacers, phase plug extensions, pretty much everything but the throat reflectors.

The pieces turned out very nice, I especially like the phase plug extensions, didn't think I had it in me but the look really nice taking into account I used a jigsaw. They need some sanding but they are probably within 1/32" difference between them.

Probably not going to be able to do much tomorrow with Easter and everything going on but I hope to finish them up before next Friday

I'll try to get some pictures uploaded so you guys can see what I've been up to.

If you're doing this well with a jigsaw, you've got no worries, my friend! Looking REALLY good! Keep the updates coming. I will give you this tip...you can learn from my mistakes. Draw out every single line where every panel goes. When you are attaching the horn panels to the baffle, keeping the horn panels aligned with the guideline you drew on the bottom panel is MORE important than the horn panels' 34 degree angle sitting flush against the baffle. I did not follow this rule and wound up having to do A LOT of extra gluing, cutting, shaping and sanding. I hope you are using PL Premium adhesive?

well, I've been reading as much as I can here. I'm marking everything out before putting things together. Still there's always the little mishaps.

I'm pretty sure these things will work out just fine though I'm a little intimidated by the small pieces of the diffraction horn. the wood is really thin!

The glue I'm using is Soudal 60a, it's expanding PU glue which works just fine.

I have used that glue a lot in my cabs. Good glue to work with, and the only expanding glue that is reasonably priced here. Keep the pics coming

finally had some time to start assembling things. got quite some panels done today

My daughter is out of the house for the next week so I hope to get a lot done! at least the first two otop's and two t39's.

I'm looking forward to firing these puppies up too, I am planning on using them on my b-day party on the 13th of July! hopefully together with two or four t39's.

So we made some progress in the past two days. both cabs are built, however the diffraction horn won't be in them for now. instead I'm going to use them with a beyma constant directivity horn on my birthday party tomorrow night.

I'll be building the hf horns next week, after the party. wanted to have them all finished but for now had to compromise in order to have them sort of ready as a birthday present to myself

now all I have to hope is that the police won't confiscate them because of noise complaints tomorrow night

I'm usually not that patient either but a friend of mine brought his jig saw over because it's a better one than I have. seeing how accurate the thing is had me more at ease somehow, it helped a lot having decent toys to play with.
