Thanks netwerks for that info, unfortunately I live in Georgia and there are no
Menards out here. Menards also won't sell the plywood online. I am going with
SandPly hardwood mentioned above. It's the closest to Birch that I could find
right now, especially on the weekend. Most wood yards out here don't open
on the weekends when I am off from work and by the time I make it through
the Georgia traffic after work during weekdays, most places will have closed.

the best out of the program as far as cut diagrams go please share.
Ok, once again....put the parts for both cabs in the program - it will make better use of your plywood. Then you'll know how much you'll need.

If you are using a table saw, have it figure the rip cuts first - everything of the same width gets cut at one time, then move to the next dimension.

But, until you find the ply you'll be using - you may have to re-figure if you end up with 5x5 BB (which is easier to handle by yourself on a table saw).

Thanks for that Bruce I get what your saying now. That makes perfect since.
I don't have a table saw though. Just my circular saw,a jigsaw and I will be
working on top of the work table I built from the Jig plans. I have already
programmed the SandPly material into the Cutlist Raw Materials tab. I will
be using the SandPly hardwood.

I multiplied the number of parts in Cutlist to accommodate two Otop12s
and as per Bruce's advice the program does create a better layout.
Thanks Bruce. I'll get the hang of this program one way or another. The
new quantities would call for 2 sheets of plywood and the cuts are easier
to cut. I might end up renting a table saw from Home Depot/Loews as I am
thinking that cutting all those parts with my circular saw could take all day.

Hi raginbajan and welcome to the forum :)

You seem to suffer from similar pricing to where I am, with birch being around $100/sheet.

Most of Bill's designs are constructed with 1/2" ply, some use less than 1/2" for part or all of the build, so you can strike off everything in that list greater in thickness than 1/2".
Then as sine143 said, you want the ply to be (a minimum of) 5 equal thicknesses.
Price always plays a part in the decision making process, so go and check out the 1/2" regular pine and the 1/2" poplar if that's what's called for in your build plans. The white birch in 1/2" I see is on special, might be worth a look.

Most of those are exotics for furniture making and means you're spending money you don't need to. Marine ply is heavier than regular ply and far to expensive. The mahogany and the meranti are probably asian based, but even if they are not, they are quite open grained timbers (which for speaker cab building means lots of filling) and are lumped into a group of timbers often known as luan, so also stay away from them.

Other than that, that can't be the only place on the island to buy ply

No. Not unless it is made of equal plies. Which I seriously doubt. It's probably a cabinet plywood with a thin veneer.

You want Baltic Birch, or one of the other options that some folks use.
