Specific limiters' capabilities

#1 Post by Rich4349 »

I've been having a heck of a time finding specs for thes various makes and models of limiters out there.
Specifically:
model #
Limiter type: standard or brick wall
Limiter dB increments
Limiter dB range
Other pertinent info I may have omitted

Please sound off with what you have / have used-looking forward to compiling a nice list of specific limiters and their dB increments. This will permit the most accurate and appropriate limiting level for any given driver/ horn combination.

If you're talking about DSP type processors for limiting amps please let us know...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Behringer:

DCX-2496
ULTRA-CURVE PRO DSP 8024
Autocom Pro-XL MDX-4400
Autocom Pro-XL MDX-2100
Autocom Pro-XL MDX-1600
Autocom Pro-XL MDX-1400
Autocom Pro-XL MDX-1200
DSP1424P ULTRAMIZER PRO
UltraDyne DSP9024 AES/EBU Digital Processor

DBX:
160A
160X
166
166A
166XL
266A
266XS
1046
1066
Driverack PA
Driverack PA+
Driverack 260

etc.

And no, I'm not asking anyone to go google-digging and find all this info for me. I want to harness the breadth and depth of the amassed knowledge and experience here and just have folks add what they know or use already.

thanks!

A multitude of users here with DBX and Behringer DSP units and they speak very positive about them. If you don't needs DSP capabilities any of the DBX 166/266 units are worthy choice.
