Multiple sub builds

#1 Post by reddal »

Hi

While I a waiting for my shipment from PE, I slaughtered an old DIY sub that I bought cheap. It contained an HYpex HS 500 sub amplifier, and a Peerless XLS 12" sub.

I checked the Specs, and it looked like I could use this in yet another THT.

comments?

In the "big one" I will use this: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowde ... er=295-420.

But it would be fun to have more...

I already have a sealed 21" maelstrom, 2 single tuba18 and 1 dual tuba18. You can never get enough bass!!

My problem is that building the subs is almost as fun as listening to them....

Do you run all of the subs at the same time covering different frequencies? Or do you have a sub in each room of the house?
Life is just a game, don't take it to seriously!

Hei

I have them all in my home theatre.

The Maelstrom takes care of the deepest frequenzies, and the others are playing the higher notes...

The plan is to use the THT as a table in front of the couch, if i dont loose to much room gain, on the other hand, powered with the Hypes HS 500 Amp, I dont think I will have a problem with sound pressure.. :cowboy:

Well, I am still waiting for my 15" dayton. I figured I could build another THT with my Peerless 12".

Nobody had any objections to the spec, wich I posted so I started last evening.

Here are som Pictures of the progress so far.

I had to build a housing for the amp, there is no way to fit it inside. It has been upgraded with some massive capacitors.

Making some progress..

With three projects at once, it gets even more important to read the drawings, over and over and over.. again. :?

Mistakes are made and mistakes are corrected..

But, I am getting there :)
