Those are going to be some gorgeous cabs!

I sincerely hope those access panels don't give you any problem come final assembly. :fingers: :fingers: :hyper:

Interesting optical illusion from the downward-looking quarter view how the taper of the flanks suggests a raked baffle, but it's not.
Good food, good people, good times.

The panels should be fine. The tricky angled ones came out great, should definitely hold air once I put some gasket tape on the inset. The outside panel is very straight forward.

Personally, I'd like to see these pictures! I'm really interested in renovation :ugeek:

More sanding in the heavy coat today and a thin coat of lacquer - have to really thin it down when it is 40°F out, probably close to 3X as much thinner as I would use at 70°F.

They do look pretty good when they are wet.

The help showed up late last night, ready for some finishing action.

He showed up with only shorts and t-shirts from California, so the 40°F of the spray room was a little chilly. Dads old sweat pants with the worn out elastic and missing drawstring were not cutting it.

Ugh, that hair :noob: Maybe it was helping keep his head warm...

Brought the better camera - do not know if the results are any better.

Tried a closeup to show how the combination of the 180 grit sand job and very thin lacquer still showed some scratch marks. Don't think you can tell from the photo though. But it is good to see a little more detail so far.

Training the new owner how to spot imperfections in the finish - you have to get the reflection off the surface from back lighting.

Lunch break included a trip to the Salvation Army to pick up some wear once pants - He does not own any long pants down in California.

Lots more sanding, wiping down, checking against the light and more sanding later, it was time for another coat of lacquer.

So how did we do?

After the spraying and cleanup was done, we found a good place to stop off at on the way home.
