Dutch meet & greet?

#1 Post by AntonZ »

There has been some talk about a dutch meet&greet. Patrick and Martijn have offered a place, but both are limited in the amount of noise we can make. In my opinion it would be stupid to have all our gear run full power all day. Personally, I'd like to hear several things near full blast for a very short while, other than that mainly see what we all made and listen at no more than moderate levels.

Any chance we can agree on a date and location? As far as I can tell, we are 6 and I know of two more people that might be interested. Shall we first sum up the boxes to be brought, see if it fits any of the available places, then see if we can agree on a date and location?

What I do
Mostly interested in live sound (own band, not a pro sound engineer), although I also use my gear for things like the kids' school.

What I can bring:
2x O10.5
4x OT12 (would like to hear these with some T39 subs)
2x WH8
1x Autotuba
1x T18
1x DR250
And additional gear: 4 channels of poweramp, 16ch digital console, DEQ (the auto-eq works nicely with the BF boxes)

What I would mainly like to hear:
T39 (preferable 3012LF loaded)
SLA-PRO
WH10, WH6

Is Friesland too far away for you guys? We might be able to arrange for a location where we can blast away at full throttle. If we can arrange for musicians we can even have a band on stage that we can mix through our gear. Any others into live sound, or are you all focused on dj only?

Heh, anywhere in the Nederlands is close by, IMHO. I'm on a road trip, half way home (ATM), so another 9 hours to go. I've been to a GTG that was 7 hours away.

I have the answer.

I have all the cabs here you probably want to test. If not, I'll make them.

You guys fly over...it only takes 26 hours, one way.

I'll take you down to Ivan, my friend's place. We can make all the noise we ever want. Accommodation will be as cheep as.

There are plenty of Dutch people here as well, if you feel outnumbered by us Kiwis - I'll bet he even has Dutch neighbours.

What more could you ask for...... :loler:

Yeah!!!! A dutch meet and greet....

Yeah to bad my workplace is in a residential area, so loud noise is out of the question most of the time. Like I said before, the owner doesnt mind, and it's not like the houses are right next too my workplace....But last week i got my first complaint from the first neighbour. He could hear the dr200 in his house so clear it was like i was standing next to him. In reality I was 30 metres away...

I'm just starting my bussiness in rental, drive-in show and speakerbuilding, so I dont have much gear....funds are limited.

I can bring the T39, 3012lf loaded, my DR200 ( if i got time to fix the cd horn), the SLA-Pro and the autotuba. Maybe for reference a CUBO15? (a sort of bandpass-tapped horn-whatyacallthem).

In gear: dcx2496, behringer epq 450, epq 900, ep2500. CDJ400, yammie board and some more toys.

Friesland? wauw...That's a 3 houre drive fore me I think. but if it is possible, why not. But I prefer a little bit closer to home.....;-)

@ Harley: be carefull what you wish for....;-) I like the idea for a bussinesstrip to kiwi-land.

I will be going to Taiwan and Oregon for work the next 4 weeks, but after that i am up for anything. I've never been to Friesland so that would be a good opertunity to visit the far north.
I'd have to make some major progress tinkering this week to bring 2 finished Titans though.

@ Harley - Be carefull who you start inviting... I am in asia quite often and have been eyeballing the prices to Australia and NZ before and they seem dirt cheap from Japan compared to flying from here.

We could rent out a multi-venue convention center or fairground. Would be pretty awesome.
