Currently the app has only been written for the iPad. Find a used one. You don't need 3G or a lot of storage - just the wi-fi.soundtechmike wrote:Hi all. And if you find two of 'em cheap - get me one too.

Just got my Studiolive early this year. Now, you can't make me go back to analog.

You technically don't have to get an iPad. Before they came out with the SL Remote app for the iPad, you could use a VNC remote viewer app. Such a VNC viewer can be had on Android, IOS, OSX, and PC. Through this method, you would remotely control the mouse and keyboard on the laptop connected to the mixer.

That being said, I use an iPad 1, Mac Mini, and WRT54G router. Ad Hoc mode was failaids.Bryce wrote:You technically don't have to get an iPad. Great pseudo-analog entry into the digital world.
Also, Rick Naqvi (PreSonus) has been asked if they'll release the control software to "open source" products, and he's said that they don't intend to. Perhaps they have some special arrangement with Apple. Regardless, the iPad makes it slick to EQ and set up a mix from around the room.

They would likely cite difficulty of supporting the vast variety of Android hardware configurations. I wish they could at least put out an Android version of Qmix.gzc_stageTech wrote:+1Bruce Weldy wrote:

Re: presonus universal control?
I feel your pain - I've had a footswitch on my Yamaha for years....and I miss it. But, in their defense - I don't think they built these boards with "stage-control" in mind. I'm sure they consider this a FOH and recording desk.biodad wrote:greetings. what are you folks doing for an fx switch? the only fault but an ultra stupid thing to omit as simple as an output jack is.

The easiest way to make the muting quick (without a footswitch) is to:
- On the FX1 and FX2 fat channel, assign them to Sub 3 and/or 4 and un-assign the mains.
- Assign Sub3,4 to mains in the sub fat channel
Now you can control the amount of FX with the Sub 3,4 faders and the mutes are close at hand, without having to try and find 'em up in the FX area.
I have FX1 as delay and FX2 as reverb. It's best to have FX1 as delay is you plan to use the tap function, because any time you leave the FX area in the menu and come back, it goes automatically to FX1. I had 'em the other way for one show, realized what a pain that was and switched 'em. Works like a champ now, and I use the tap function on every song when I'm running sound for others....it truly makes a hell of a difference in the quality of vocals when the delay is in time to the music. It adds depth with out sounding too gimmicky.
