A Hello from the Netherlands

#1 Post by Disco-inferno »

Hi, I'm Jeroen from the Netherlands,
I'm 44 jears old and 've been Dj-ing since i was 16. Quit a couple of times, started over, quit and so on but have been busy the past couple of years in providing sound systems for Dj's and bands on a fairly regular basis, say 5 to 10 times a month.

My typical setup is single or dual 18's with 15/2'tops and for bigger gigs i add two rear hornloaded 15's and two extra tops for better dispersion. tops used are from pretty respectable brands :Solton, Nova, Subs are from a less renowned brand (Dap Audio) but top off the line in their league. I especially like the hornloaded 15's for their kick that's why i was searching for a new hornloaded system and eventually ended up here.

The events i cater are growing and i feel that the way things are going now, i will need to take this step and provide what is needed.

I need to be flexible, for really small events i've got an even smaller system but from 100 on up i'd like to set up hornloaded. I'm thinking (X)T48 and either (X)OT12 or (X)DR280. For starters I'd like to build four of each and then go on from there.

I'd appreciate any advice, I'm still learning :ugeek:

Welcome on board, Jeroen. Good to see a few more fellow dutchmen joining recently.

As you know I've got 4x OT12 available and willing to let them go for downsizing purposes. It would release funds for me to build a pair of SLA pro. If we can find a place to play them you are welcome to listen and have a look. I cannot play them full throttle in my home, and I'm most probably not travelling all the way down to Tilburg any day soon (at least not with room in the car to bring these along).

Welkom heten.
How low does, say, 90 % of your music go? The T48 will be solid to 40hz, the T39 to 45hz. But the T39 is allowed to go to 40hz when there is a cluster of 4 used.

A pair of OT12s per side carry a long way, and sound good and clean.

Welcome Jeroen!

@ Antonz and Jeroen:

Is a trip to Dordrecht possible? For Jeroen to hear the Otop's, and for AntonZ to hear the SLApro's?

Great to see another fellow dutchman!

Are you offering a place for a dutch BFM get-together? Can we make some noise there? Now that would be cool 8)
It's not exactly next door but you make it sound pretty attractive :cowboy:
I have a busy agenda with a day job, family life, band and more but if we can work out a date that we are all available, then I'm in for meet&greet at your place.

The Netherlands, happy memories. I well remember getting slightly drunk in the square in Delft on a glorious September day. A great place.

Well...more a place where we can listen to some cabs...we can't go full tilt all the time, it's a "industrieterrein" ( whats that in english? ) in between some houses...but I got a little place there for myself to build my cabs and get my bussiness started. The owner knows i like it loud, and he doesnt care how loud. the nearest neigbours are about 50 mtrs ( 150 ft? ) away. ( they care how loud.... )

But it is a option... :D

It must be the people and the ambience then. I well remember getting more than slightly drunk in the best bar ever, Het Folen in Den Bosch, a few years back. Tiny, sawdust on the floor and some interesting aromas in the air. And I'm not a drinker. Time I went back to the Netherlands.
