Duratex and Bondo

#1 Post by ncgrove »

Anyone had any problems with Duratex sticking to bondo?

I used the bondo to fill screw holes and some tearout plus other would-be cosmetic disasters. It's for a couple of T-39s.

I haven't had any problems with it. I do put a coat of black latex paint down first though, just to save on how much duratex I use. Don't know if that makes any difference on the bondo/duratex sticking.

Sanded with 40 grit, as the whole cab should be anyway, you can't tell where it's been patched.

Cheapo flat black spray paint. Just hit everywhere you see bondo or pl. Good insurance. Make sure it's quick dry, and wait a couple of hours before you duratex it.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.
