RTA and Octaves

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

RTA and Octaves

#1 Post by coolhandjjl »

I'm using REW Room EQ Wizard for RTA. I have a selection of Measuring Modes, spectrum, octave, 1/2 octave, all the way down to 1/48 octave. If my EQ is only a 15 band (2/3 octave) equalizer, any reason to measure smaller than 1/2 or 1/3 octave? I also have an FFT choice, 8192, 16384, to 131072 settings. What's that for? And for Averages, I have none, 2,4, 8 to exponential. Any suggestions on where to set that also?

None at all, though it's best to measure at the same frequency centers that the EQ uses, and a 1/2 octave won't.
