Moving Subs

Hey all,

I move my T30's with a hand truck and I've been putting dollies on the bottom of my v plates so I can move the whole thing easily if needed and it's been very convenient, especially now that two more are about to be added to the T30 stack. Do any of you all do anything similar or possibly better?

I'd considered mounting wheels directly to the bottom and the side that will be down for V plating, but I've not done that yet. Any points to consider?

Did you see the youtube of someone unloading a pair of t48? The bottom one had four casters on the back and 2nd one just two I think, so they nestled into the mouth of the bottom one.

Thinking you could latch pairs and shift similarly but two on a handtruck is handy enough.

That's what I was considering to suggest as well. In that way, you don't need to add more wheels to the pile....easier for transport tetrising.

I built two caster boards to move around my four T39 subs. This works out well since casters don't either add to the overall height or make it hard to get a tight pack.

I am always worried about attaching anything to the subs to avoid any chance of air leaks. What I did instead was to wrap two 2" wide black straps around the sub from the sides. You easily can move the clasp for the straps so that you have the subs flat on the ground and the straps provide many places to grab the box when you need to move it, much more flexible than fixed handles. Plus they are cheap. Plus you can buy them in a variety of designer colors if you are into that.

Ditto. That's what I'm doing now and it's doing pretty well. I built two for my two 18" T30's and I'll probably build two more for my 26" T30's. I wasn't crazy about attaching anything directly to the box either. I wonder about latching the board to the bottom of the subs.

I use a furniture dolly....same basic idea. Mine were about $25 at my local home improvement megamart.

I stack two T39S and two DR200's on each one...and strap all that down.

Check out using the straps to lift them and move them into position. They have been a lifesaver.
