titan39/ot12 trial run

#1 Post by BillyG »

I just finished half of a PA prodject today and couldn't resist a trial run.
The T39 has dual BP102's in a 22" width and the OT 1-12 has a Deltalite 2512 with cross firing 12 piezo's.
I dragged the cabs into the back yard and used my backup bass amp which is a Hartke 5000 biamp(250/250) crossed at about 150 hz to play a bass solo for the neighbors. All I can say is it's way, way more than I would ever use for a bass rig. The sound was clean and punchy. The low "B" reminded me of a freight train! I have a DR250/ tuba24 setup that is also killer, but this rig is the thunder. For a relatively simple build I highly recomend this setup as the monster bass rig!! :D

A little update. I installed the passive crossover in the t39 and set it up in my living room. The ot12 gets the mids and highs out with great presision, almost too good. You really have to be carefull with fret sound etc. because of the clairity. As for the bass end, a bevelled glass mirror shook itself off of a table. It didn't break but I desided to turn down to keep the house from shaking off of the foundation!
