Too many different things to list. Point is, it's just against the laws of physics.
There is no magic here, just good physics.

Is it possible to sacrifice low-end extension to get enough SPL in the low-midrange to match a trombone or baritone?

Not with something that you can carry on your back, especially once you add batteries to run it.
Anything small enough to carry as a backpack will probably not have any useful output below 120HZ or so.

For a parade gig, you're just going to have to pull a cart... No way around it.
