What do you think about this amp to run OT12's?

#1 Post by PulseMan »

Hi guys what do you think about these amps to run OT12's (two per channel running Delta pro's) ?
Price is pretty decent here in South Africa in comparision to other name brands and their weight is gentle on my back too. :)

Thanks

looks pretty adequate you'll need an external processor or a good xover
There is a very thin line between fail and success. It is very thin so, why are you scared???

How much did you have to pay for them? They look pretty darn good on paper (dependant on price)

Are you into the 'ZEF' phenomenon? I've recently become a bit of a Die Antwoord fan after seeing them perform live at The Big Day Out. They're are pretty out there.
As a South African, I value your opinion - I watched an interview and they were asked if they were white trash or conceptual art? They blew up saying that ZEF is like "Ultra Cool" and the popular style amongst the youth and I quote "The older people, that don't fall off and stay cool" very interesting? So what is your take on them? I'm most intriguied.

With your O-Tops, what drivers did you use? Thanks

Delta Pro in the initial post... Also Zef is weird, the accent makes it sound really dumb to my ears, it's like when you get a really English fella rapping and your brain goes "this is not right!".

I'd read that it's all a big show but the guy's really involved in the whole thing hence the horrible tattoos... :conf:

They cost R2300.00 each.
I run the the T48's on the bigger brother in the range.

'ZEF' phenomenon, well in a league of their if you enjoy that genre.

I'm supplying the sound at a festival later this year and Die Antwoord are on the list.

Will get a better idea after that.

Bottom line, they are "cooking" here in SA

Thanks man :D BFM rocks

Proud to be the first South African with a full BFM rig supplying sound and lighting for some of the bigger local names.

Did a demo run last Saturday and invited a booking agent I know to have a listen to the rig and this guys facial expression was priceless.
My OT12's only had a coat of primer on them and no grills as yet, when this guy saw the piezos, mouth wide open, damn I will never ever forget that look.

Anyway he gave my a few songs that he had on his IPAD to play and guess what? he booked my there and then. :hyper:

Thanks Bill for the great designs, your the MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sick! I'm going to be building some O-Tops soon myself. What made you go for the Delta 12A Pro opposed to the Neo 2512?
I'm pretty set on going the Neo for the saving on shipping costs :broke:

Mainly because I picked them up for a very good price and I know a guy here in South Africa that can rewind them if they ever burn out. If you can save costs on the neos by all means get them :D
