Anyone with a few tools and the inclination to follow plans and instructions can build one. Carpenters have been known to try to improve on Bill's methods. That is hit and miss as they think in terms of strong box rather than a perfectly sealed horn.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.

And they tend to decide on their own to use regular PVA glue and other than the recommended 1/2" (12mm) quality birch ply. That is really a no go, especially if they decide 3/4" or yet more must be better. Or, heaven forbid, use MDF or particle board. Do not let a carpenter builder do any of these things.
Use decent quality 1/2" only (a few exceptions are explicitly mentioned in the plans, such as certain parts in the DR series).
Make sure all the bracing from the plans is actually installed properly.
Driver chamber and entire horn path should be absolutely air tight, hence the importance of PL expanding glue.
