Gemini, GEM, Pyle, etc... DJ stuff that's the lowest of the low. Power ratings are usually inflated, sound quality is poor.

Behringer is the cheapest amp I'll buy, and now that the Peavey IPRs and QSC GX series can be had for not much more.... those are the ones to start with.

Thanks the exact input i was looking for but these amps got the job done for quite a long time but i noticed that when compared to a Peavey CS-4000 Side by side ,not volume but the quality was amazing on peavey while the others had thier own sound . As for marathon brand what do you think? They have a more expensive line of amplifiers that are said to be crest CA-18 clones? My question is now by looking at the caps and transistors what is guess of watts rms you would say?

Hard to say. The power ratings are obviously peak, so cut them at least in half for RMS. However... the thing is 77lb, so unless the case is really heavy duty, there is probably a decently sized transformer in there, so it's probably not bad.

Another place where cheap amps are cheap is the input... sometimes "Balanced" really isn't. A true balanced input has circuitry which makes it "balanced," and some pieces of cheap gear will simply have a "balanced compatible" input which is wired so that the ground is simply lifted from sleeve, which prevents some noise, but isn't truly balanced.

Its seems like the guys in these forums really like but why these theres so much better is it a wattage to cost ratio they enjoy?

It looks nice... I agree with the poster there who compared it to the RMX5050, they do look similar on the inside. However, at a street price of $800, it's not a good deal compared to the Peavey IPR6000... pretty much the same power, and MUCH less weight, for $150 less (or better).

and I rather have to deal with Peavey for warranty issues than some of the less known brands.

True but IPR6000 Aren't up anymore its IPR7500 and peavey doesnt have a date when they will be released, another question i know its stupid but im in highschool and was thinking of my feature what college or university class for Engennering in pro audio any thing to do with the pro audio world?

Greetings from a fellow highschooler. First of all, I would suggest reading some books to see if you're really into acoustics. Look up Dr. Floyd E. Toole, I have his Sound Reproduction book and it's got a bunch of information in it, although it's quite mind-boggling and way over my head.
