DIY Speakon Cables: Sjoow Cord or SJTW
DIY Speakon Cables: Sjoow Cord or SJTW
Costco has a good deal on a 12/3 cord (100 ft for $40). It is SJTW so its not as flexible as Carol brand SJoow rubberized cord. Any drawback? Is the SJoow rating better and more durable?

The neoprene jacket is far more user friendly than PVC, which is harder to coil and uncoil and eventually will kink.

Always get the most flexible cable possible. You will thank yourself everytime you throw one out or wrap one. In addition to Bill's comments less flexible tends to have a "memory" and this complicates thinks further. This is what i purchase. The price is right and it performs well.

Good points, I know how frustrating it is when cables are not cooperating and you spend just as long untangling as you do setting up.
What lengths do you guys find to be optimum for a single run? I know its advisable to keep it as short as possible so is 25 feet optimal or should I do less/more? I will have a few speakon couplers in case I need a longer run.

I make mine in 25ft and 50ft; and some shorter ones for monitors.loudsubz wrote:What lengths do you guys find to be optimum for a single run?
