$250 for an EP 2500???? Good deal or not?

#1 Post by Five9teen »

Hi guys,

Just wondering if $250 is a decent deal for a Behringer EP 2500. The guy claims it's basically new. Claims he just took it out of the box to see if it would fire up and then put it back. Looks like he buys and sells equipment quite frequently. Maybe he just likes to "flip" equipment for something to do, I don't know.

What do you think? :hyper: or :fruit:

Make sure it works.....

If possible, let it run for a while under pressure to make sure it doesn't have any problems.

Provided it works properly would you say that's a good price or fairly typical?

$250 is the MOST I would pay for one used...and that needs to include shipping.

I just found 11 auctions where the bid+shipping was coming in at about $225.

A $25 premium is not unreasonable if you get more trust in the history of the owner and the unit.

Weren't they originally $300? It has to be in mint condition with low hours on it if i'm going to pay $250 for it.

I have two. One that had the same "history" that you say this one is all about, although I couldn't verify this. This one I bought for $150 and the other used one for$125. They oth look the same. If you don't know him and he's not a local business I'd low ball him.

The EP have worked flawlessly in many of our installs. Very heavy units. I would go for a bit less than 250.00 used mint. Good luck.

Sold my last one for $200. Worked perfect. Replaced it with RMX 2450's which I got a buy on for $350 a couple years ago.

I wouldn't pay over $200-225 for an EP2500 unless it was new.

Thanks for all of the input guys. In my quest I've discovered all of the talk of the light weight Peavey IPRs and such. What was I thinking? The price range is similar (buying new none the less) and 30 to 40 pounds lighter. Guess I can wrap up this discussion and maybe start one on the difference between the Peavey and the Behringer EPQ series. See you in another thread.

Good call. If these are going to moved around you don't want an EP.

Unlike the rest of Behringer's gear the EP series have shown to be tried and true since their release.
