Hello!
i've reciently built an Omni12 with 2 BP102 (4ohm configuration) and now i'm looking for a nice head to drive this awesome cabinet
I've been looking at some class D amplifiers suchs as Eden or Genz Benz, but how many watts should I be using? the lighest amps have 250W, which seems pretty enough for me, but i don't know if i should be looking for a bigger amp, such as 550W which is more common.
any recommendation will be apreciated, thanks!
Bass Head for Omni12
Re: Bass Head for Omni12
IIRC, BP102 are limited to 28VRMS. An amp that is rated for ~300 watts @ 4 Ohms is a good start. I, personally, have the G-K MB2-500 driving a single J112 with no tweeters (yet
) and it is pretty loud.

I know money often seals the deal, but seriously, quality is an investment, not an expense... Grant Bunter

Most of the power is used by the low woofers. If 250w wasn't enough 500w wouldn't really help matters, but would make it a lot easier to blow them up.
I don't know much about the omni sub section. Where bp102 are used in the other folded designs they get 150w each.

BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.

I have the original omni12 with a delta 12lf 8ohm. I drive it with an SVT3 pro (300 watts) and it's plenty loud for me.

Thanks for the replies...
I'm pretty sure that 250w is more than enough, but most of the reviews of those amps, mention that they are for "practise and small gigs" , and I was a bit confused about that.
i was thinking about getting the Eden WTX264, with 260w @4 ohm.....the next model has 500w , but, as Gregory East mentioned before, i might blow the speakers =S
any recommendation about this amp?

I wouldn't be too concerned about blowing the drivers, you will hear them complain/distort in this design. Another thing about this design is that the mid horn is not near your ears so it may not sound loud when you are standing right next to it. If you can tilt it back or stand 8-10 ft in front it helps. BTW 250 watts vs 500 watts = +3db that is not very much volume.
