Help with Driverack PA 4x DR280 4x T48

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Help with Driverack PA 4x DR280 4x T48

#1 Post by Invest.ProSound »

I'm running 2 QSC PLX2450's 1 for tops, 1 for subs. I have the DriveRack PA. I've read the manual, and I have it sounding really good. But Im still confused about alot of functions on the Drive rack. Can anyone tell me what the settings should be? Maybe even pictures of how you've got yours set up, talking about crossover points and octave settings.

Right now, Im crossing over the subs at 35hz and the tops at 80hz. But I don't understand a few of the settings, like how to set the octave and such.

Trust you ears.

If you have already got a really good sounding system, then leave it at it is. A pair of 280's per side cab manage 80Hz and 35Hz is right for your T48's. That's a well balanced, if not huge, system.

A google search took 3 minutes to turn this up, there's likely many more:

i have seen various eq and driverackPA question but nothing asking simply this: Bill, in your opinion will auto-eq adequately eq your (BFM) speakers? Auto eq with the rta mic is pretty much all i use to eq my system right now but im not using my bfm speakers yet (purchasing the cd tonight). look fwd to your feedback.

It will to the point of being flat for the room. But that's only a baseline. Flat isn't always the best sound, and if it's live sound you must EQ to notch mic feedback as well. So you turn your graphic EQ off, use the RTA to get the system flat, then turn the EQ on and do the final adjustments.

There is no right and wrong.. Except limiter settings and hpf 24dB @35 Hz.. I like the sound of bw24 tho

And ive tried auto eq, did nothing but bad for me, these systems is really simple to dial and by ear is 10x better than machine
