I am working on a 2 TT setup in my HT and am looking for some good advise on the right amp. Both of these look good to me but both with compromises.
The Crown Audio XTi 1000 is a 2 chan pro amp with DSP, so all in one package, but how loud is the cooling fan? Will my Onkyo TX-NR808 LFE output a strong enough signal to run it?
Getting 2 OAudio bash 500s will give me an adjustable LPF and a small amout of eq, but is the rolloff steep enough on the LPF? and I will have to build a couple of boxes to mount them in.
Which of these is my best option?
Crown Audio XTi 1000 or 2x OAudio Bash 500

Pro audio amps in the home can sometimes be more trouble than they're worth, apparently. Not speaking from personal experience, just parroting what I've heard here on the forum. The Bash amps don't even have a fan.

When my xti1000 fan comes on, it's loud. You don't want it on unless you are at full dance volume. Thankfully, it only comes on rarely.

They're almost always more trouble than they're worth. And one Bash 500 should be adequate for a pair of TT.bassmonster wrote:Pro audio amps in the home can sometimes be more trouble than they're worth, apparently.

I was just thinking one for each, not for watts but, for adjustability. I will have them across the room from one another at different distances from the seating area and only one will be corner loaded. Wouldn' it be better to run 2?And one Bash 500 should be adequate for a pair of TT.

I'd try it with one first to be sure.2Channon wrote: Wouldn' it be better to run 2?

If anyone is interested in buying a new Crown XTi 1000, B&H Photo has them on sale now for $389.99. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/4 ... Power.html
I called Harman and they are an authorized dealer.
I think I'll be going with the OAudio BASH 500
