You're telling me. All the Samoans were going ballistic late this afternoon in Sth Auckland - tooting their car horns at the lights, flashing their lights and making one hell of a lot of noise. You'd think they'd actually won the finals they way they were carrying on.

I've been trying to find a draw schedule of when and where the games are, for the life of me can't find one.

Scotland just beat Georgia to top their group (an entirely new experience for us Scots who aren't known for an inferiority complex. Ahem!)

In football (soccer or 'association football' as opposed to 'rugby football') Scotland, if they qualify for a World Cup, never top their group and have never made into the knock out stages!

They'll be doing the Highland Fling in the glens the nicht (tonight)!

Where's the icon of man in kilt doing a sword dance?

I think it's going to be a very close game.

Anyone who doesn't watch Rugby should really watch this game as it wil be guaranteed to be a passion fuelled affair.

At least watching the start we won't be subjected to those boring studid hakas and war dances. I cringe every time I see our All Blacks insisting on doing the Haka....same old, same old. Why we insist on getting special treatemnt to enable us to perform this each time is beyond me.

Even this 'Maori horn blowing and poking out of tongue bullshit' at the beginning of the games where NZ is not featuring looks just downright dumb.

Never mind...looking forward to Scotland vs England. Ancestorally, I have a foot in both camps. Pity the Danes didn't have a team, I could claim heritage there too.

I'm a long long way from a rugby fan but the Haka is something special to me. The irony of a chunk of All Blacks having parentage hailing from an opposing Pacific Is team is never lost on me though.

Go here for fixtures calendar:

http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/home/fixtu ... endar.html

New Zealand v France on 24th should be an amazing open, running rugby game. Both have traditions of flowing play, quick recycling of the ball at breakdowns, exhilarating passing game in the backs. :hyper:

Scotland v Argentina on 25th could be a banana skin for the Scots. :?

And England v Scotland on 1st Oct will be no love lost between 'em. :chainsaw:

Then the knock out games get really mouthwatering...

Ireland thumps Australia !

#24 Post by Harley »

The biggest upset so far.

Ireland 15 Australia 6

What a game. Best entertainment Rugby-wise for many a year really.

If you haven't seen this game but can get hold of a re-run, do watch it.

The team battles to look out for? When these teams clash, you are in for a good game;

England
South Africa
Scotland
France
New Zealand .....yay!
Wales
Australia
Argentina

Oh..and don't forget, countries such as USA, Canada, Russia and Italy field teams for this competition.

Worth a watch.

well now I'll let you decide that one harley, although a little birdie told me that the Kiwis are just as delighted as us Irish....could it be that it weakens the Aussies who they consider to be their greatest threat.

The opposite really.

That will really fire the Aussies up. There's no sense in playing a against a woosie team. The Aussies fired up will be something to behold.

SA brought in some real menace into their game against Fiji. They now loo ominous. That narrow margin against Wales has rarked them up several notches.

Hard to tell who is going to win this in the end. Still "anybody's game"
