Would it be a good move to incorporate my MEQ 230 into my rack with my DCX-2496 ? Im reading some things on the forum thats leading me to believe it would help to flatten my system better by mirror imaging it from the SPL chart.
Also, does anyone use the bandpass filters in the DCX-2496 to run DR's ?

It could be. I think grabbing a slider is easier then navigating menues.

Flattening your system eq will not make it sound better, it's just easier to fine tune from that point, IMHO. You could tune your system outdoors using the dcx, use that as your starting point when you set up, then use the meq to fine tune the different venues.

I don't have one so I can't answer that.

Re: Alesis MEQ 230 EQ
I'm not sure what you mean by using the bandpass filters to tune the DR250.
I have mine set up with a HPF at 95hz (48dB LR) and LPF at 14k (12dB Butterworth). I also use the dynamic EQ to tame the upper mids when I push things hard, and have the limiter turned off because people will start going deaf before I have to worry about blowing the DRs.
Which bandpass filter are you referring to?

Re: Alesis MEQ 230 EQ
thanks for the input fellas.
Dantreige:I understand about flattening the response and using it as a starting point for fine tuning.According to forum member Sydney,no one listens to music flat but i do like the idea of having a 31 band EQ in the rack to make finer adjustments without (as you mentioned)having to navigate menu's.
JC:I was referring to the different filters for each eq where you have a choice of HP\LP\BP,the BP also affects the frequencies "around" the specific frequency.I'm going to try your set up and see how it sounds,i'm low passing at 18k.I have a luau to DJ for my cousin 2morrow night in a big field so maybe i will get there a hour or two early and do some experimenting. When is your next set up ? I would like to come here those 4 T-36's bang ! Thanks again fellas.

Re: Alesis MEQ 230 EQ
Just a note - the LPF I have on the DR250s is set at 12dB/octave to give it a gentle taper off - it helps to tame the "harsh" out of the piezos.djtrumptight wrote:thanks for the input fellas.
