Attaching the Driver

#1 Post by katu_lp »

Hello, i'm building an Omni12 with 2 Bp102,i'm about to make the holes for the drivers,

if i can't find t-nuts (tricky to find here) can I just use screws to secure the drivers? is it safe?

also, when it's time to place the driver, I just screw it to the plywood? or do I have to put epoxy or something to make the joint of the driver and the wood airtight?

thanks

Screws are not recommended with the Omni 12, as the 1/2" baffle isn't thick enough to guarantee retention. If you can't find blind nuts you can use regular nuts and bolts, but it will be a two person job to secure them. The drivers have mounting gaskets.
The gasket on the driver is sufficient enough to seal as is, to the spacer ring.
There is no spacer ring on the current O12.
