Crown XLS 1500

#1 Post by Scott Brochu »

Tell me what is wrong with the mentioned;

Signal from mixer>>
>>into the EQ (32 band)>>
>>into the crown 1500>>channel 1 to the mains, channel 2 to the subs.

Should I trust the on board limiting?
It only has one setting for the x over, so I set the sub channel for 100 and crown manual reads that it will go to 50 for the high pass.
I also set the mains at 100.
525 watts from one channel to both my subs....just need some reassurance. :confused: :oops:
Drumming is a way of life.

Set up is right, but that's not much power for the subs. Don't I remember a 36" wide Titan? The limiter in the XLS series is not going to do the trick. You need a real limiter. However, that said - I kinda' doubt that you have enough power to blow the subs even at full tilt if you are running 3012s or 3015s. Your are only getting 47 volts at 540 watts into 4 ohms......

There is no high pass on the sub channel. You can pick your crossover frequency anywhere from 50hz to 3khz. It low passes to channel one and high passes to channel 2.

Pull all of the 50hz and below out of the signal on the EQ to keep from getting too much low stuff in there since you don't have a high pass on the sub channel....

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210
