T60 the destoyer of balloons!

#1 Post by subharmonic »

I just did my brother-in-laws wedding on Saturday. It was a local country club, decorated with 750 balloons. During my stress test (never been there before, wanted to make sure the circuit held) I played Bass Down Low by Dev at stupid drunk levels. Then it started to happen....pop...pop...po.pop.........pop. I was killing the decorations with one Tuba 60.

Anyway I know that a T60 is total overkill for a mobile wedding DJ but I find it easier than 2 titan 39s. And the once and while that it can use the extension :noob:

Basically I am beyond happy with my build. It is louder than I need (ATM, and I never do outdoors weather is too unpredictable here), hits hard, super clean and low as a rusty 85 Chevy Celebrities resale value. I like the sound from it better than my T39s. It also threatened glass ware at the bar according to the bartender. There were more that a few people interested in where all the bass was coming from, I guess the 5ft tall box behind me couldn't be doing all that in their opinion. After about 10:30 to closing we went hard and killed a ton more balloons. :fruit:

Luckily the owners were really cool so hopefully they will let me back in, the owners husband seemed to enjoy the home made red-eye I brought.

Lastly I am considering badging the sub with the same label as on Jules's wallet in Pulp Fiction, cause it is one "Bad Motherfillintherestyourself"

Which T60 did you build exactly? Lab 12 or lab 15? How wide? Just for 'reference'!

Is there any other kind of red-eye? When I read your post I knew you were from ND before I checked your profile. I have family up in the Belfield ND area. They introduced me to red-eye last time I was up there.

LOLS. Then we are probably related, not by blood but marriage. Please tell me that the red-eye didn't have marciano cherries or taste like "apple pie" if it did stop by Mandan next time you pass through and I will get you a bottle of the good stuff.

that's two kinds of funny, busting balloons with a single 15" and the fact that I also have relatives in Mandan and therefore am familiar with both Red Eye AND Green Eye!

and for the record, I see nothing wrong with one single T60 used by a mobile wedding DJ!!

Here in Texas you'd get your clock cleaned if you gave 'em the "red-eye".....

4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

No, it didn't taste like apple pie, it tasted like anise. These guys are old time cattle ranchers handing down the recipe from generation to generation. It was knock ya on yer azz good. Since you got me thinking about it, I am going to ask them for the recipe.

No video was taken, either during sound check and during the dance the vid is of my in-laws dancing crazy not the balloons. :(

Next time it happens I will get one. :D Hopefully this wasn't just a fluke, has anyone else had this happen?

Im going to try it when I unveil my new club system at our launch night in September. There is gonna be a whole lot of t60 going on, and I had already thought about bringing balloons, but I didn't think of combining the two. I might even set it up as a promo video... ;)
