New Builder from FL
I am new to this community, and thought I would say hello. I do DJ work for between 200-1000 people per event. I have built other speakers in the past, but I am new to these designs. I have just purchased the plans for the T48 and plan to build a 30" version, so if anyone has an tips to offer, they are greatly appreciated. I am also looking at building some tops in the future, possible the OT12.

- Read the plans at least 3 times.SoundBoy91 wrote:so if anyone has an tips to offer, they are greatly appreciated.
- While reading the 3rd time, imagine yourself doing every step in the shop.
- Build slowly, one step at a time.
- In doubt, refer to the Sketchup file.

The T48's at 30" at big but sound amazing.
To add to Frederic's comments:
- Build to your pack size
- Don't wipe the PL
- It's normal that PL gets everywhere
- PL does eventually come off your fingers, just wait
- When the PL has come off your fingers, it's time to build another cab
- Start your learning of sound reinforcement from scratch

Some OT12 with the T48 will be great for DJ use. That is what I use and am very happy with the combo. Once you've completed the build on the T48, building a set of OT12's will be easy. Enjoy the build, take your time, and then enjoy the pure pleasure of knowing all that great sound is coming for a system you built with your own hands.

Re: New Builder from FL
Thank you all for the tips
. I think it's awsome that there are so many people here that want to help others. As for the tops, I was originally thinking the OT12, or maybe the DR200, so it's great to see I'm on the right track. As far as the T48, I am thinking of using the Definimax 4015LF driver. Anybody here suggest otherwise?

Use the recommended 3015LF. It has higher Vd and weighs about 15 pounds less.SoundBoy91 wrote:As far as the T48, I am thinking of using the Definimax 4015LF driver. Anybody here suggest otherwise?
