It's an indirect route. You can do it through a RDP or VNC type app, taking control of either the host or a remote... i don't imagine it would work all that well (as has been suggested).
Simply put, SAC is designed to be controlled with a mouse. Most of those that are having success with touch screens are either using the big 3M multitouch display (which has some drawbacks, and isn't very portable) or the little Motion Computing tablets which require a stylus. Someone also has a MIDI control app for iDevices mapped to one of the supported SAC controllers.
The iPad control idea is neat, and maybe one day Mr. Lentini will release and API for his remote protocol so someone can code an iPad control app. He'a slso mentioned that he has the Android SDK, and is exploring a native SAC Remote program for that platform, which would make more sense - the tablets are less expensive and the platform is supposedly more open for developers to customize.
