Input Jack Wiring

Anyone got any good photos or drawings of the wiring for an input jack with two quarter inch and two speakon inputs? I'm building a Jack 212 and went with that option for the Jack plate, but I'm just unsure about how to wire that up.

Make eight pigtails all about 6 inches(12mm) in length. Strip and tin each end. Attach an end of the pigtail to a Speakon or jack post. Do the same for the other seven.
Now, all the +1 and the centre post of the jacks, get soldered together at the other ends of those pigtails. All the -1 and outside jack posts are soldered together.
From there, run a length of wire to the driver or cross-over.

I remember someone on the forum said ear plugs work to seal the jacks.

Thanks. I guess when the cable's plugged in I don't need to worry about it and i can seal the other one up with and ear plug.

If you absolutely need 1/4" use the Neutrik Speakon combo jacks.

Just be aware that the combo jacks are not air-tight. They claim to be, but they are not.

They are if you seal the back of them with hot-melt glue after the wires are soldered on. 1/4" doesn't offer that option. Even without doing that they're almost airtight.

Couldn't you also used sealed 1/4" jacks? They're most common on basses, and aren't cheap.

Or, if you are cheap, like me, and in a 3rd world country, like me, you could cut an aluminum can (ie: spray deodorants) with an old pair of scissors to make a small cup, run the cables through a small hole in the bottom, apply plenty of glue, clamp in place, leave overnight to solidify, hot plastic gun the whole mess just to be sure. Hey, it worked!
