Re: Question on routers and bits....

I am using router bits from WPW http://wpw.co.il/index.htm and they hold up very well.
These are manufactured locally (in Israel) but are claimed to be sold mainly abroad.
If they are available over on your side of the pond (maybe badged differently) I do recommend them 'sharply'...

I like the Whiteside bits just as much as the Freuds, same quality.

Just and fyi: Lowes has their Hitachi 2.25 hp router clearanced for $39.99. It comes with 1/2" and 1/4" collets. This is in a Las Vegas store, but they are probably clearancing them all over the US for new models. Lowes website doesn't even show a Hitachi router, so maybe they are not going to carry them anymore. I bought one yesterday but haven't tried it out yet. It looks like it will work better than my Ryobi does.

Has anyone tried a Hitachi router?

I've got a couple Hitachi tools from Lowes and Costco. The nailers I own are fantastic, and from reviews it seems that most of their corded tools are great values.
