Anyone know when the XTi 2series are available?

#1 Post by Robin_Larsson »

Hi everyone!

I´m in the process to get some amps, need to run 4 T48s and 2 DR 280, 3015LF and 3012HO respectively, just got my 3015s from Thomann last week:)
I want to get the XTi 4002 amps, two of them, but cant get a reliable releasdate on them! Have seen some sellers on Ebay saying they have it in stock, Partsexpress.com says 3e of june, the Swedish retailer said something like that, Thomann says they dont know. I need some amps by 4e of june..
Would there be any warranty issues if I buy them from say USA, and live in Sweden? Would I have to send them back to the states?

Or should I get the original version? Those are good price at Thomann, since I buy without VAT its the same price as in USA, or atleast when the American price is 999 dollars, but I´ve seen a thread about them going for 650 or so now.

I really want the better limiters in the 2series, and I dont wanna buy twice, possibly if could sell the old ones when the new are available in Europe.

Or any other recomendations?

Cheers!

The XTi 4002 is in stock at Musician's Friend for $999.95 US.

MF is selling the XTi 4000 for $799.00 US, but I've seen them for less at other retailers.

Check with Crown regarding the possibility of buying from the US and the warranty coverage. My GUESS would be that they should honor the warranty at any authorized repair center.

Thanks Mikey! Sounds good that someone have them in stock! Maybe it would be easier to buy in Europe, but not really if the shipping doesnt kill it..

Also, just to make 110% sure, It is the same models of XTi´s thats shipped in USA as Europe, regarding 110 vs 220V operation? It seems so.

Yeah, the warranty should be worldwide. I´ll email Crown.
Regarding warranty in general, in the manual to my Behringer BCF 2000, it says clearly not to contact them directly, but to contact the retailer in case of a warranty issue. And also that you must register your product for the warranty to be valid..

Or is there really any other amps I should be looking in to? The Peavey IPR series, would they actually compete with the XTi?

Better double check on that one. At one point I have been tempted to buy a Crown Drivecore from the US, but found out that the Drivecore power supply is not universal voltage like the old Xti's that will accept 100V-240V. Don't know about the xti 2 amps. The Drivecore Manuals were not very clear about it.

You may want to register on the Crown/Harman forums. Their tech staff are on the forums. They are knowledgable and will answer your questions. They answered mine on the Drivecore voltage requirements.

Don't know about the XTi, but....

Looking at the XLS Drivecore manual right now. Page 7 clearly shows that the options are:

100 volts
120
220
230-240

This is also stated in the specs on page 27.

And .....the manual is printed in German, French, Spanish....as well as English. I kinda' think it would work just fine.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

That sounds like the best thing to do, to me. Get it all "straight from the horse's mouth".
