I bought a SL a couple months ago. After getting some gigs on it I have to say the thing is awesome. We now record all out gigs. If any of you guys doing live sound are looking for a new mixer, take a serious look at these. I store scenes for the "regular" venues that we play. The next update on the board is supposed to allow 31 band EQ's on the AUX sends instead of only the main out.

I've wanted one since they came out.....plan on the 24 for the church when we redo that system. Glad to hear it's as good as the claims.

The major thing you should consider when you get one for your church is the learning curve. I was going to have mine buy one until I personally bought one and decided that people wouldnt know what they are doing. I only have volunteers that can kinda do it right on the GL2400 that we have now. But you can lockout a bunch of the features so that people cant mess with them.

I also have volunteers.....My thinking is that if someone screws something up, we can always do a "recall" and put it back where it belongs. Plus, I really like the idea of all the functions available on every channel.

I'd really like to have one. Or 2 and daisy chain them for bigger events! I've watch many videos about those and it looks amazingly easy to operate.

I've looked at them many times, and they do look nice.
The "no motorized faders" is a deal killer tho. I don't understand why they didn't include that.
Also, not enough processing on the outputs (Graphics, crossovers, etc...)
If they would do those upgrades, it would be an awesome mixer.

I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing the Behringer X32 when it comes out.

I've built both of those into systems, both nice but the 16:4 is pretty amazing, full suite of dsp, speaker control, firewire recording etc. The hardware itself is nice too with a good feel. A sweet unit, worth the money

It can also interface via firewire with waves multirack plugin processor

The no motorized faders is kinda annoying but you cant get everything on a $2000 mixer. They do have a "finder" function or something that tells you when you hit the saved fade spot. There is nothing for the trim though. The next update will have graphic EQs on all the outputs instead of just the main output. Again, I think its a little much to ask for a crossover as well in a board that costs what it does. One can hope they add a DPS or crossover though, because that would just be awesome.

Behringer mixers have such a bad rep that I would not trust one at all. I had a Eurodesk that had so many random problems it was crazy. The only quality piece of Behringer gear seems to be the DCX.

the Behringer DI 100 (di box) actually is quite good. Not a Radial or other A lister, but pretty much unbeatable for the price, and reliable as well. Sounds best (way better) on 48V in stead of the internal 9V. I don't have a lot of B* gear but that is one I can recommend.

The nationals I plug into it have never complained. Anyone who is fussy is carrying their own.

I just had a demo of the 24.4.2, 16.4.2 and the 16.0.2 from PreSonus and all I can say is that I'm hugely impressed. They got a 64 channel mixer out of (4) 16.4.2s and demonstrated the iPad and iPhone functionality due out soon. I was going to go for an LS9, despite my better judgement, but I think I just found its replacement!

Behringer mixers have such a bad rep that I would not trust one at all. I had a Eurodesk that had so many random problems it was crazy. The only quality piece of Behringer gear seems to be the DCX.

Ya know... I've read that and heard that a lot. However, I've owned several (maybe 6 or 7) different Behringer mixers, and never had a bit of trouble with any of them. Granted, the preamps don't sound as good as other mixers, but they're not horrible. Their compressors are decent also. I'm using 18 channels of Behringer compression at the church right now. I've lost a couple of channels over the last few years, but that's not too bad.
There's a ton of features packed into the X32 for the price. Assuming it actually comes out with all of those and the price is close to what they said it will be. I'm not holding my breath, but I am interested.

It's a very interesting piece of gear. I just wouldnt want to buy the first run of them. I would need some real world reviews and such. If Behringer can actually make them "road worthy," they will do really well with it. They would probably do pretty well in a permanent install, but again, I just dont have much faith in their products lasting too long.

We can all hope that its as good as it is on paper.
