Ok, I've "stuffed" the bird. Is this sufficient? Or, do I need to do the little braces too? (Yeah, I know I have to clear the ports)

Also, what's the best way to mount the crossover? That's got me a little puzzled.

This is just weird. Every time you've posted a picture, it's almost exactly my own progress and what I'm doing. I even got the same mattress topper with the different ripples. Yesterday I finished up the actual cab and just today I installed (and checked) the crossovers soldered everything in place.

You can either mount the crossover in on the back (I mounted on the one of the back braces on my jakcs) or you can mount it in the cab which this is what I did I as did not like having the crossovers on a detachable back. I put mine on the bottom on the left side right next to the baffle with regular screws just deep enough to not pierce the duratex.

Thanks 6-3...

I guess you got your mattress topper at Wal-Mart too.....

DESTRUCTION!!!!!

Since I want to grill up the old ones and the new ones.....and the old style diffuser on the diffraction horn sticks out too much....it's time to put on the new-style diffuser. I decided that it would be easier to build new brackets rather than trying to modify the old ones in place....it was a snap. I'm really glad that Adam Schaible didn't use screws or nails to put 'em together - just glue. Now to put 'em back together.

Put two coats of duratex on the new cabs and two coats on the old ones.

Beginning to think I didn't need to buy another gallon....Still on the first gallon. I put two coats on 2- T39s, 4 coats on my two old OT12s, 2 coats on my two new OT12s, and two light boxes ...... and there is still a couple of inches in the bottom of the bucket. This stuff is great.

I'm planning to put the crossover on the side. But may consider other locations.....better figure it out quick - I'm wiring 'em up tomorrow.

Nothing else left to do.....tophats and feet are installed. Just need the corners and speakers to complete the deal....

Wired, tested and working! No problems that I could hear. Compared with the NSD2005 boxes - not a huge difference. I had to pull a little 1k to clean 'em up a little sitting in the garage.

They are up and running.

Here's old and new......
OT12 Build 064 small.JPG
Stacked with the chevron corners.....pretty secure. This is how they'll stack up Friday night when we try 'em in public for the first time. Excited to see how adding the two extra cabs will sound.

Nice cabs. I have always liked the grills but the woofer being protected by the horn makes it possible for me to be lazy and not use them.

I fired mine up today and they're up and running too. However, I think imma have to troubleshoot the arrays as i think I heard a slight difference in their sound. But since I finally got my measurement mic, I'll be running the rta wizard on my dbx to make the preset.

Now all that's left to do is rebuild the arrays for the jacks (I gutted them to be used in the otops), build the slapros with the rest of the piezos, and build homes for all of the six 8" mcm's. :hyper:

Very, very cool man. The grill looks really good, as well as everything else about the boxes. I may put a grill on mine at some point. I'm aiming for four boxes total myself eventually.

Thanks.

I would really like to put the foam behind the screens.......guess I should have bought that when I got the grills. Just couldn't see $35 for a piece of foam.....of course, after all I've spent to build these things, it shouldn't have mattered.

A piece of air conditioner filter foam should cost a tenth that.
