DCX 2496 Time Alignment?

#1 Post by doncolga »

Has anyone used this feature on this unit? I'm guessing a mic would be needed, but the manual doesn't seem to go into much detail about it.

Are you asking about the automatic feature? I've tried it a few times but don't remember off the top of head to be of any use to you. It's very easy to do manually though. One millisecond for each foot of distance should get you very close.

When I was doing it manually I reversed the polarity of the sub and top (so they're out of phase), then played a sine wave at the crossover frequency. The time alignment will be correct when the SPL is reduced the most. Then put the polarity back in phase.

This is the method Bill recommended to me.
