EP4000 VS xti 4000 question ?

#1 Post by mino00 »

Hello
I 'm about to get one of the above amps for my DR250s & T39s , since the XTI almost double in price, so what is the advantage of the XTI over the EP.
Thanks in advance
Henry

The xti is lighter, but the real advantage (and the reason is twice the price) is the the built in dsp. If you already have this, you really don't need xti's, but if you want to keep it super simple and portable, a single xti powering four cabs with the built in processor wins.
Built:6 t39, t18, 4 Jack10, 2 autotuba, 2 SLA,2 wedge, 2 TT, 2 Tritrix, curved sla, 2 otop212, 2 SLA pros, Ported 8" sub, 2 ported 210, dual ported 8" sub

Integrated DSP in the Xti, Crown's 3yr warranty and a lot of weight difference are the things that spring to mind. The Berrie 4000 has a reputation for being an EP2500 inside, rebadged by the marketing department. I think the Crown will deliver more power when both are measured by the same standards.
