What is your plan for getting centre aligned between the driver and plug?

It's the same size as the 5" cutout at the center of the baffle. So it just lines up concentrically with that, same as if I was using the 1/2" plywood phase plug specified in the plans. A schmear of PL, a screw through the foam to maintain alignment, some weight to "clamp" the plug tight to the baffle overnight, and Voila.

The finished product:

Image

I saw another build thread here which featured cosmetic disks mounted to the face of the baffle and liked the look. 'Kind of like a jet engine intake.

Two Speakons each, wired parallel. I have a 1/4" adapter if it's ever called for. Be sure to mount the jacks high enough to clear the speaker magnet. I hadn't really thought that one through, and had a few anxious moments before confirming that yes, everything fit with no interference.

I've just barely had the chance to play through them yet, but I don't think I'll find any reason to be disappointed.

edit: Oh, and the pair of them weigh just about 48-1/2 pounds, bathroom scale method. I was hoping for 25 or less each, and -

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Thank you Mr. Fitzmaurice!

Those were mine, and yeah, I agree that they add a nice finished look to the cabs. Yours turned out very nice. I liked the rounded over look on the reflectors.

I do too. Did Bill have any comments on effects of the plug caps?

In theory that's the best way to do it, but impractical for the average builder.

One of the keys to Bill's designs is that they are accessible to nearly anyone with a few basic tools and a good supply of patience. I imagine there are any number of ways that they could be marginally improved at the cost of increased construction difficulty. *

He's stated elsewhere that the difference between the standard phase plugs and something more ideal like these is easily made up for with a bit of EQ, so there really isn't much of a practical argument to go to the extra trouble unless you take a fancy to doing so.

* Like for instance- I've wondered what would be accomplished by substituting the faceted flat throat and horn panels with a one piece curved, laminated panel. Now that would take some extra diddling around. Do-able, yes. Cool looking, absolutely. Make any sense from an engineering prerspective? 'Dunno.

Could I put these cosmetic disks on my OT112s?
Also, what corners are those - make, model #, reseller?

Can I put this disk on my OT 112s? Or, is it a Jack specific thing?
