Greetings. I've built this one a few times, and I know I've commented on it..... but I've never officially reviewed it.
First off, the most recent cut of the plans are a pretty easy follow...... hooray.
I find that this speaker takes awhile before the LA6-MB breaks in and doesn't sound a bit nasty. Once it's broken in, it sounds great. It has a very long throw, and tremendous dispersion. You can hear this son of a gun loud and clear. The sound is a bit shouty and "in your face" which is actually handy for cutting through all the background noise. This is definately a monitor that you can hear, loud and clear....... Just don't go expecting super high fidelity. This design is very functional........ it says what it does, and accomplishes the goals well. I actually like to stay back from this monitor, rather than having to be on top of it like you do with most monitors.
If you are looking for a beautiful sounding floor wedge.... go somewhere else... if you want a floor wedge that you can hear loud and clear above all else... Go build one.
The Wedgehorn.......Again.
The Wedgehorn.......Again.
