Powered SLA PRO

#1 Post by Doug Hart »

Customer needed a compact, lightweight, all-in-one solution for small acoustic gigs.

Mids are the Dayton PA165-8 6" Drivers
For the power amp and mixer,
I stripped the parts out of a Behringer B205D monitor.

Customer took delivery last weekend and was extremely pleased with the product.

Rick,
They sound very good, but it's the first one I've built so I can't compare to the Eminence.
I had to go with the Daytons, it was the only way to get the cab within the customer's budget.
He is extremely pleased, and it's perfect for their acoustic guitar/2 vocal gigs.

Great looking box Doug. Where did you get the jig for your company logo routed into the back of the box?

I get asked that question a lot. Answer is: I don't use one. I route it freehand on each cabinet.
Lots of practice, but it only takes me about 20 minutes now.

Great job Doug, can you guesstimate how much the amp/preamp modules weigh?

btw, I can see freehanding the script, but what about the "Pro Audio" in logo?

Thanks, I'm guessing under 5 pounds, but that's just a guess.
The cab can very easily be carried in one hand.

Also freehanded. Like I said... "lots of practice".
