The newest generation of small laser levels with the ability to shoot lines provide a substitute for a straight edge. Especially inside the confines of a speaker where a straight edge won't go.
Good for shooting straight lines, finding bulges, etc & sighting true, walls out-of-plump etc in tight quarters.

Not so good on a Skilsaw* though! I bought one with a laser attached and despite many hours of adjustments, clamp-up settings bla bla bla - the friggin thing points every which way but where I want to cut arrrrggghhh!Sydney wrote:... I have another hand held laser which shoots straight lines but during the day forget it - you can't see it all that well.
.........drives the cat insane though.....
