I just installed an adjustable top hat in one of our DR250s last night. It was pretty straight forward but the cutout is quite a bit larger for the adjustable than the regular TH.

One thing I am still trying to figure out is the stand hole diameter. The top hats I previously bought were 1 3/8" and the adjustable TH are supposed to be 1 1/2" diameter. They both seem the same however and neither fit the speaker stands that we currently have so I will need to construct some sort of adapter.

Nice thing about the adjustable TH is that you don't have to worry about using any sort of jig to get the angle in the cab correct. Just make a paper template, cut out with a jig saw and screw away!

Not sure I measured that right. I did it by eyeball with a tape measure. I shipped some out yesterday and noticed the bevel around the pole socket. I'm out, but when I get some more in I'm going to use the calipers this time.

Might try pulling the tube all way out of the base and see if there's an 1-3/8 on the other end.
Some aluminum stands have that feature.

looks like the same one as PE, except Leland has them in stock :) I just placed an order.

I'm going to retro-fit my 212 Otops with these because they lean back when I raise them on my stands. It seems like there's some play in the stands when they are raised and the center of gravity on the cabinets causes them to tilt back. Stands are the Ultimate tele-lock ones.

probably, your hats are too far to the front of the cab. But I believe in putting tops well overhead and tilting them forward a bit, aimed at head level on the opposite side of the room, so this could work out well.

have them on my 1x12s

I recall having to mod from the straight mounts, but don't remember much else. (going on two years here...)

It's a normal size. The hamelton stands I use had the right adapter on them.

I used Lelands adjustable top hats in my DR 250's,i didn't "find" the center of gravity,i measured as far back as i could in the access cover,as close to the edge of the rear woofer flange as possible, there is a picture in my thread titled "more DR 250 questions" on the build threads page. The good thing about mounting it where i did was it gave me enough room to mount 1 of the top hat screws into the cab instead of them all being in the access cover.
Built:
2 Autotuba's MCM 55 2421
8 T48's 24"wide 3015 LF

2 SLA HT systems
1 Table Tuba Dayton DCS 255-4

I installed them the other week, used the speakers last weekend. I found that I couldn't move them any further back due to the driver though they still go on the stands OK. And work!
I think I'm pushing the weight limit on my stands (which are over ten years old now too). I going to have to start looking into some new ones.
