"Bugera amps, manufactured by Behringer, are designed in Germany and put together with parts manufactured entirely in their Chinese factories from speaker cones to coils. The Bugera amps are based of the Fender Bassman amps and are dedicated to achieving warm tube tone."Doug Hart wrote:question first:

Re: Bugera
I haven't tried the Bugera amps, but I have played through the Behringer amps in the past.
They sucked.
I hope they got it right with the Bugera line.
I am needing a new amp. I'll check them out next time I'm at Guitar Center.

Re: Bugera
Thanks for the input, but I'm asking if anyone has actually USED them, and I'm not worried about drivers: I'll be buying my own and building an FX cab when the time comes.
I am very well aware of who makes these amps. Still, the reviews on this head at least are mostly GREAT, and that's more than 2-3.........................

Re: Bugera
I think my words came out wrong...
I'm agreeing with you David.
I haven't checked them out in the past because they are made by Behringer.
I don't have a problem with Behringer, I use quite a bit of their gear. I just never liked the guitar amps.
However, after reading the reviews, I'm anxious to try them out.
Definitely let us know what you find out, and I'll try one out next time I'm at GC.

Re: Bugera
I know a kid who uses a Bugera in metal band, gets a nice crunchy sound that sounds like you would expect a tube amp to sound. He's just a high school kid though, so take that for what it's worth. It's not the head you linked to, it's their big 100 watt head.David Sample wrote:Thanks for the input, but I'm asking if anyone has actually USED them
My kid is more into blues and has a pretty good ear for for tone, he has played thru them on various occasions and likes the way they sound. He shied away because of the cheap plastic look and ended up buying an old Carvin head. This was the 100 watt head again.
I know that's not worth much, but it's all I got.

Re: Bugera
Thanks guys. I'll probably never be in a band again....................... All the ego tripping, arguing, tit for tat and changing loyalties depending on which band member another is talking to.................... what a load of crap!
Whatever amp that I buy will be for my own personal enjoyment and recording original material that I've been working on forever. From the many reviews it sounds as though this head does everything well to very well except for full on death metal, which I couldn't care less about. The ability to get ultra clean tones all the way through overdriven, harmonically interesting, controlled feedback tones and that good old warm tube sound WITHOUT ear splitting volumes is what I'm looking for.
