That's because even the EQ is laughing at him for using a 20 band stereo EQ on a guitar rig.

Good Lord, that's twice in one day that I've made fun of a guitarist......hearing some of this stuff is starting to make me ashamed to be one.

Guitar + cable + quality tube amp + ability = great guitar sounds....
I don't know... it sounds really, really, good. I am thinking of going reverse smilety to get into the mids. We kind of have a metal thing going. I boost the crap out of my mids now. I'll def check into the pre/power setup a little more and see what I can do. I do like the somplicity of having just a head though. I found that BBE at music go round. I just need to get rid of the SX and my peavey.

Music go round has a decent layaway program if I recall. Might be worth getting that thing reserved for you if you really want it.

Why not post them in the "Post your items for sale here" forum?

I don't want to worry about having to ship them. The bass is listed right now on craigslist. I kinda have to sell the bass before I can sell the head. It's a money/numbers game. I can't commit to anything until I get this gear sold, no idea how long that will take. Most layaway has a timeframe.

Sold the bass so the head is now posted. But, does anyone have experience with the Crown XLS 1000 DriveCore?

I was told that that would be a good power amp and I can get a decent deal but I would have to forgoe a rack for now...

You can build one for next to nothing!

My Eden has an 'Enhance' knob that progressively cuts in 200~300hz range. That really cleans up the mids tremendously! Perhaps you could look into one of those little Boss EQ's and do the same?
