Amp suggestions for two Jack 12's and 1, eventually 2 T30's

#1 Post by mems »

Ok i started a little backwards as can be seen in the Omniboards and now am looking to get some suggestions on where to go from here.

I have ordered my Jack 12 plans from BFM and am waiting till he gets back from Vaca Tuesday for them. In the meantime, I'd like to get some suggestions on where to go with my amp/amps.

I'm thinking of going with the suggested Deltalite 2512 for the two jacks.
I have my Tuba 30 plans already and will be running per SeisTres's suggestion a Kappalite 3012 in this/these.

I'd like the first suggestion to be an amp/s that I can run this whole setup through including the abilities to have the EQ, and DSP speaker presets for crossover frequencies such as the XTI. Does using these types of amps require the use of an additional crossover? Is there any other amps that can do this? I'd like to stick with good quality.

Second, I'd like a suggestion for some room to grow ie. adding in another Tuba 30 of the same specs including all the above measures. Minimal amps would be best.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want an all in one unit an XTI 4000 would be perfect for this. It would leave your some headroom.

You could even safely power a 3rd T30 on the sub channel.

Basic specs are 900 watts into 4 ohms, per channel.
This allows you to run two 3012LF in parallel and not run out of amp.
This is a QSC PLX-3002 or equivalent.

You can get by with half the above, if you are willing to run -3dB down.
This is the recommended limit (half power) because almost all of additional input power is wasted as heat.
My biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my toys for what I said I paid for them.

Need a speaker management system. BBE DS24, dbx Driverack, or Behringer DCX2496. They all do basically the same thing.
