Custom cabinet covers for BFM?

#1 Post by dreysgroove »

Hello good people of Earth,
I have just finished a pair of Jack 10s, and the thought of getting this lovely Duratex finish all scratched up in the tour van has inspired me to look for some custom cab covers.
Has anyone had any made (or made them yourself?) for BFM cabs that you'd recommend?
I'm looking for gently padded Cordura or something else reasonably tough, but not bulky or heavy. I got a quote of some really simple vinyl ones from Amplifiercovers.com, only $50 each... sounds good, but I was hoping for some opinions.
Thanks!

You could take patterns from the cabs , some Cordura, and a few those blankets they sell at moving centers / storage rentals to a taylor or upholsterer. They can stitch the blanket material to the Cordura for some very nice covers.

I have a cover for an amp from a co. called Designed 2 Fit. They are an ebay seller and make a variety of covers. They may have a pattern in stock that would fit.

Thanks, JohnP., I got a pair of the D2F (Designed 2 Fit) covers, and they're great. Played maybe 20 gigs so far and they look like new. Here's a bonus-- I roll one of them up to act as a bolster, to angle the top Jack upward when I'm in close proximity to my amp. Looks decent, and works like a charm.

Dude, those look great. I'm constantly surprised at how well the expanded metal looks once on the cabs.
